Meet the Artist: Aparna Gore

Some stories of creativity begin in studios. Aparna Gore's began in a small village near Solapur.

Like many women in India, Aparna followed the expected path of life, she married at the right age and raised two wonderful children. But she was never just a housewife. Creativity was always a quiet but powerful part of who she was.

Her journey with art began when she was just eight years old. As a child, she often visited a close friend of her mother who spent her days doing different creative activities. Aparna would sit beside her, watching carefully, absorbing every detail. Soon she was given small tasks, helping here and there, and slowly began creating small things of her own.

What started as curiosity slowly grew into a lifelong relationship with art.

Over the last 25 years, Aparna has explored creativity across many forms and materials, painting on bedsheets, transforming old jeans, embroidering table mats, and working with everyday fabrics to turn them into something beautiful. Her work often reflects her love for sustainable materials and the idea that everyday objects can carry warmth and personality.

For many years, her creations were shared quietly among friends and family. I was fortunate to be one of the earliest recipients of her handmade gifts. I still have one of her beautifully hand-painted bedsheets. Even today, I take it out whenever I want to bring a little brightness into my room or when I need a bit of uplifting energy.

Her work has always had that effect, simple, warm, and full of life.

Encouraged by the appreciation she received, Aparna recently returned more actively to her creative practice. For her, art is both a source of calm and a way to share happiness with others.

Today, it is a privilege to work with her and bring her heartfelt creations to more people, allowing many others to experience the warmth and joy that her art carries.

Every piece she creates continues to be part of an ongoing journey, one filled with learning, patience, and the simple belief that handmade art can make everyday life a little brighter. ✨

Spreading Khushiya Through Art, Meet Khushi Tharwani

Khushi Tharwani is a young artist whose journey with art began quietly, through small moments of painting and sketching simply for the joy of creating.

What started as a personal hobby soon grew into a deeper passion for sharing creativity with others.

Alongside her work as a teacher, Khushi began guiding young children in painting and drawing, encouraging them to explore imagination through colour and form. Seeing creativity awaken in her students became the spark that pushed her to build something of her own.

In July 2025, she founded The Nickpalette, a space where she shares her artworks and conducts creative workshops. The name carries a personal touch, inspired by her beloved cat, Nick.

Since then, Khushi has conducted 10+ art workshops across various parts of Maharashtra, continuing to inspire both children and adults to reconnect with creativity through art.
